Allie is the CEO of Mapistry. She previously developed a new consumer product to help people organize and search users photos by utilizing computer vision and machine learning algorithms for IQEngines (acquired by Yahoo). The technology developed at IQE is making flickr image search smarter. Prior to Yahoo/IQE, Allie worked at MIT’s Lincoln Labs on computer vision technology for the Air Force.
She was pursuing a PhD in computer science from UC Berkeley, but chose to leave the program early (with a Masters) in pursuit of more entrepreneurial goals. Allie has BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. She has published and presented on her computer vision and machine learning research in multiple publications and conferences. She also holds a patent on Automatic Image Piling.
